Celebrating Mamas

For Mother's Day weekend we spent Saturday visiting the Grandma's and sharing a meal with them.  It was so special to get to see them.  We've had very few mother's days since we've been married to show our appreciation to them.  The thing is mom's never stop being moms.  And if they have grandchildren, they lend a hand in caring for them too.  I don't think I realized how much you still need your mom even in your 30's and beyond.  Its like they pave the path for you.  Give you direction always.  You're always experiencing everything for the first time where they've been there and done that 20+ years prior.    Anyway, just always hope that they know we still need them and love them and appreciate everything that they do.

Being silly with Grandma K after she got home a little after we arrived.

Grandpa K and Clare.  They didn't know what to make of him without his mustache.

Mama and me.

Proclaiming "2!" as she held up two little rocks.

Making motor noises and loading up the bed with rocks.  Its as if the Ford and Chevy commercials are already made for him.

Grandma K found a ladybug and we had to hold it.

Hayden's little hand.

Clare was afraid the ladybug would bite, but after Hayden held it, she would too.

And then on to Grandma B's to celebrate her.  We snuggled everyone up for a picture with her son and grandkids.  The kids love playing outside and find the simplest of things to amuse themselves like poles to play peek-a-boo.  It was pretty cute to watch.

Just thought this guy was pretty handsome and had to take a picture of him scruff and all.

Normal, Everyday Life

So this is normal everyday life.  Dinner at the table together (even Sadie the lab has her spot under the table).  Being silly.  Playing with toys.  Lots of playing outside when the weather allows.  Which has been pretty much everyday.  Enjoying our dog, or horse depending on your perspective.  I've been a little camera crazy lately, but these best describe the last month in normal activities for pictures.  We've been busy, but mostly its the kids who maintain it that way.  Then we fit in the have to do's around the house in between.  I love these days.  I'll miss them.

Easter 2012

Well here are the pics from our Easter Sunday. Three Easter egg hunts, two delicious dinners, and one church service celebrating our Lord's resurrection we managed to fit into one day and only got the kids to bed 15 minutes late.  We started the day by seeing what the Easter bunny had left for us in our baskets and after breakfast he left more outside to hunt down.  Then after a gummy bear snack, it was off to church for the real celebration.  We went to Grandma B's house next where we took part in her neighborhood's Easter egg hunt.  Each kiddo got about a dozen eggs filled with everything from pennies, to candy, to costume jewelry.  Then finally a visit to Grandma and Grandpa K's for dinner with great-grandparents and great aunts and uncles, aunts and uncles, and cousins.  And, yes, another easter-egg hunt.  Mom and Dad are going to try and do a better job on the candy.  After all, Halloween and Christmas candy is still lingering.  I just feel so guilty eating it when its theirs rightfully and feel bad giving it to them to eat every night just for the sake of getting through it.  Well, we had a great day and I am so grateful to have spent it with family.  We also got a special visit by Aunt Rach the day before but it was so fast I quite forgot to pick up the camera.  We loved having you so much!
